WAS, D.C., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A Minnesota company is voluntarily recalling about 2,200 LED light kits it imported from China because they could overheat, a U.S. watchdog agency says.
The U.S. Consumer Products Commission said the LED light kits, imported by Rockler Companies Inc. of Medina, Minn., and sold at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware and specialty shops from last March through October for about $60 each, present a burn or fire hazard.
The LED lights involved in the recall have either an interchangeable spotlight head or a magnifying head. Incorrect wiring can cause the battery pack to overheat, the commission said.
The recall involves model No. 26429 for the spotlight and 27017 for the magnifying head.
Consumers were advised to stop using the LED light kits and call Rockler for a free repair kit.
