MIAMI, June 7 (UPI) -- Bankrupt Delta Air Lines will close a 500-employee call center in Miramar, Fla., and another center in Alabama in a cost-cutting move.
The Florida closure is set for Sept. 1 and, along with the closure of a 150-worker reservations center in Alabama, will save the carrier an estimated $2.7 million annually, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.

Workers will be offered positions at its other U.S. call centers, Delta said. Those declining relocation will receive severance.
