Siemens gets $560M million job in U.S.

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The United States Postal Service has awarded a $560 million contract to a U.S. unit of Germany's Siemens AG.

The Postal Automation division of Siemens Logistics and Assembly Systems Inc., Arlington, Va., will build the second phase of an automated mail-redirection program, American City Business Journals reported Tuesday.

The unit will provide software, equipment and services to expand the Postal Automation Redirection System to all mail sorting centers nationwide over 28 months.

Siemens Logistics and Assembly Systems is one of the Munich-based Siemens' U.S. operating companies.
