NORTHFIELD, Ill., April 12 (UPI) -- Kraft Foods Tuesday recalled 148,500 packages of sugar-free and fat-free instant pudding, saying they may contain allergy-aggravating pistachio nuts.
The Northfield, Ill., foodmaker said it found pistachios in chocolate, chocolate fudge and white chocolate flavors of its fat-free and sugar-free instant pudding distributed across the United States.
The flavors do not normally include the nuts to which some people are severely allergic.
Kraft advised consumers to return the affected pudding to place of purchase for a refund.
The 148,500 packages affected are fat- and sugar-free instant pudding. The flavors are white chocolate with code dates of a 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8, chocolate with a code date of 06 MAR 07 D8 and chocolate fudge with a code date of 07 MAR 07 D8.
