Hacker breaks into Nike Web site

BEIJING, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- An unknown hacker got into the Web site of Nike (China) and wished viewers a happy New Year, the China Daily reported Thursday.

Nike technicians were able to restore the site by late Wednesday, meaning the site was compromised less than a day.

Besides issuing good wishes, the hacker mocked the shoe company's Web site and signed off as "Danny."

It is unknown whether the intrusion related to Nike's advertisement featuring NBA star LeBron James battling a cartoon martial arts master and dragons. China banned the ads, describing them as an insult to the country's national dignity.
