Malaysia to review large scale projects

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, June 22 (UPI) -- The government is reviewing the development projects under the 8th Malaysia plan with focus being on "re-scaling" and "re-prioritising," Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi said.

The review of the development projects has been undertaken to cut cost in government expenditure and to ensure that the country's economy will not be affected, he said, Bernama reports.

Abdullah said several other projects have been also planned and that they would be carried out prudently to avoid any sudden contraction in the economy.
