Donna Karan in venture with Luxottica

NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- Donna Karan of New York said Wednesday it has signed a five-year deal with Luxottica Group of Italy for prescription frames and sunglasses.

Donna Karan is one of world's leading fashion design houses. Luxottica Group is a leader in the eyewear sector.

The five-year licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Donna Karan and DKNY prescription frames and sunglasses will begin on January 1, 2005 and is renewable for an additional five years through December 2014.

The first new Donna Karan and DKNY eyewear collections will be presented early next year.
