Housing starts fall 2.2 percent

WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The Commerce Department said Thursday that U.S. housing starts fell 2.2 percent in August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.609 million units. Most economists on Wall Street were expecting housing starts to rise 1.3 percent during the month.
