WASHINGTON, Oct. 1, 1946 (UP) -- Members of Congress and newspaper editorial writers today hailed the outcome of the German war crimes trial as a landmark in international law and a strong factor in keeping the peace.

NUREMBERG, Oct. 1, 1946 (UP) - The three free men of Nuremberg, Hjalmar Schacht, Hans Fritzsche and Franz von Papen, told correspondents today that they want "rest, oblivion and plenty of space."

BERLIN, Oct. 1, 1946 (UP) - The condemned Nazi leaders will be executed in the Nuremberg prison, a spokesman for the Allied control council announced late today.
