HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Divergent debuted a new 60-second preview during Thursday night's Olympic broadcast.
The film is directed by Neil Burger (The Illusionist, Limitless), and premieres March 21. Based on the first book of Veronica Roth's popular young adult series, Divergent is set in a futuristic dystopian Chicago where people are divided into five factions based on their personality traits. The sorting takes place at age sixteen, and star Shailene Woodley plays a "divergent" -- one who does not fit into any of the five groups.
Kate Winslet plays antagonist faction leader Jeanine Matthews and is seen in the trailer commanding, "I want every single divergent hunted down and killed. Every. Single. One." The preview sets up an action-packed face-off between Winslet and Woodley's character, Beatrice, in the upcoming film.
