Concerned parents ditch tickets as Miley Cyrus continues controversial 'Bangerz' tour

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus kicked off her Bangerz tour on Valentine's Day last Friday with a bang. So far, the 21- year-old singer has simulated oral sex on a Bill Clinton impersonator, straddled a giant hot dog, sung in a marijuana-print leotard on top of a car, and put a thong that a fan threw on stage in her mouth.

Miley recently stated in an interview with Fuse TV that she thinks "...my show is educational for kids" and that she will be exposing them "to art most people don't know about," but parents aren't interested in the "lessons" Miley wants to teach.

MSN's TheFix reports that Miley's management has been overwhelmed with concerns from parents complaining about the explicit nature of her performance, with some even calling for the entire tour to be cancelled. Many are reportedly demanding refunds or attempting to sell their tickets online, resulting in lots of empty seats and lower resale prices.

It remains to be seen if venues will cancel the show or if Miley will adjust her behavior in order to appease the parents of younger fans. After all, she did perform her Bangerz tour antics in front of a giant parental advisory sign.

Rolling Stone gave the tour a positive review despite Miley's outrageous behavior, citing her "immense talent" and "fantastic vocals."

The next Bangerz stop is in Anaheim, California.
