ORANGE COUNTY , Calif., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- General Hospital actress Shayne Lamas fell into a coma Sunday after having a miscarriage from pregnancy complications in her Orange County home.
The 28-year-old Bachelor alum was rushed to the hospital by paramedics after law enforcement officials were called to her and husband Nik Richie's house at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, TMZ reported.
Once there, doctors reportedly determined that Lamas was bleeding internally around her uterus and decided to bring in a specialist to figure out what was causing the bleeding. She lost her unborn child during surgery.
Sources say the actress is currently in a coma, unable to breathe on her own, but that doctors are optimistic about her recovery.
Lamas was 16 weeks pregnant with the couple's second child.
