EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 3 (UPI) --
Opera soprano Renée Fleming opened Sunday night's Super Bowl with a flawless rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner."
The 55-year-old singer looked elegant as she performed at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey wearing a black dress with a white wrap around her. She was preceded by Queen Latifah who sang "America the Beautiful" with the New Jersey Youth Choir.
Fleming is the first opera singer to perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
