Dwyane Wade reportedly fathered child while on 'break' from Gabrielle Union

Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Gabrielle Union "said yes" to longtime boyfriend Dwyane Wade last week, and she reportedly did so with the knowledge that the 31-year-old basketball player fathered his third child while on a "break" from the 41-year-old actress.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Wade's brief relationship with a woman he's known "for many years" resulted in a baby boy. The source also said that Wade, who has participated in the White House's fatherhood initiative, fully intends to help care for his third son.

Wade discussed their temporary split during a September sit-down with Jay Leno.

"Celebrity relationships [are] very hard," he said, adding that Union was focused on her BET series Being Mary Jane, while he dealt with injuries.

"At the end of the day we came back together," he said.

Wade has two sons, Zaire and Zion, from his marriage to Siohvaughn Funches. He also raises his nephew Dahveon.
