Yauk’s Specialty meat recall expands to more products

Colorado based Yauk’s Specialty Meats expanded its recall to include additional products that were processed under unsanitary conditions Monday.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture this latest recall comes in the wake of a previous meat and poultry product recall on Dec. 9 and Dec. 12.

The latest batch of products can be identified by the establishment number "Est. 20309" inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. They are:

- "Colorado Best Beef” -- various fresh, smoked and shelf-stable meat products.

- “James Ranch” -- jerky and summer sausage.

- “Rocky Plains Meats” -- hams, bacon, raw and smoked sausage, jerky and raw poultry.

- “John Long Farms” -- fresh and smoked pork products.

- “Horned Beef” -- jerky.

- “Mile High Hungarian Sausage” -- fresh and smoked bacon and sausage.

All products were produced between April 1, 2013, and Dec. 5, 2013 and can be identified by four-digit Julian dates ranging between 3091 and 3339, the USDA said. All items were sold at the wholesale and retail level in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service began a food safety assessment at the plant on Dec. 5, and found the products were being produced under unsanitary conditions, including rodent activity, in the production, storage and retail areas.

The establishment has been closed since the inspection. FSIS has not yet received reports of illnesses due to the consumption of the products.

The previously recalled products can be identified by the establishment number "Est. 20309" or "P-20309" inside the USDA Mark of Inspection.The brands affected include:

- Open A Bar 2
