Simon Cowell opened up about his plans for the X Factor's fourth season during an interview with Mashable.
While the show's ratings have been far from ideal, fans have nothing to fear as Cowell assured viewers that the singing competition will be back next year, with a few differences.
"We'll be coming back in the U.S. next season, but my role on the show may change," he explained.
The show might also cut back in the amount of weekly live performances.
“It might just be on one night a week,” Cowell added. “It could work well. [Two nights] is probably too much.”
As for the the always-controversial judging panel, Cowell revealed he'd love to work with his former American Idol counterparts as well a bring in a fresh face that "would be so fun to watch."
“I would pick Paula and Randy from American Idol -- they were my favorite judges because we had an incredible time together. It was never planned to be what it became, and it was really special,” he said.
“I recently met Miley Cyrus, and I really liked her,” he said of the "Wrecking Ball" singer. “She has an opinion for sure.”
This season's judge panel included Kelly Rowland, Demi Lovato and Paulina Rubio. While Lovato has already confirmed her departure from the show the fate of the other two judges is still to be determined.
