Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A McDonald's employee "McResource" website apparently offering tips on how to manage money, health and stress is being criticized by advocate group Low Pay Is Not OK.

According to a video made by the group, advice on the site includes “breaking food into pieces” to feel full on less food and selling or returning unopened holiday gifts for "quick cash."

The video also claims the "McResource" site counsels employees to sing in order to alleviate stress and take two vacations to help decrease the risk of heart attack.

McDonald's says the tips were taken out of context.

“This is an attempt by an outside organization to undermine a well-intended employee assistance resource website by taking isolated portions out of context," the company said in a statement.

"The McResource website has helped countless employees by providing them with a variety of information and resources on topics ranging from health and wellness to stress and financial management. The website also includes some rotating ‘quick tips’ and while we recognize that some of these could be taken out of context, the vast majority of the resources and information on the site are based on credible outside experts and well-published advice."

This is what Low Pay says on their website:

"McDonald’s knows that they don’t pay their employees enough to make ends meet -- and they want to ‘help.’ But instead of paying us enough to get by, they made a McRescources website that’s chock full of CLUELESS (and offensive!) tips."

The group is calling for McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Papa John’s to pay their employees $15 per hour.
