Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Falling 17 stories at highway speeds isn't everyone's idea of a good time, but if you like being terrified, a Kansas water park is building the world's largest and fastest water slide.
The so-called Verrückt slide (German for "insane") is under construction at Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark. Set to open May 23, thrill-seekers will first walk 264 steps to the top of the tower, before tunneling down the slide in four-person inflatable rafts capped off by a five-story hill.
