Nov. 17 (UPI) -- It's not often that Canadian politicians become subjects of American political satire, but Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is the kind of public figure that makes Saturday Night Live writers salivate.

In just matter of weeks, the 44-year-old mayor of Canada's largest city has admitted to smoking crack cocaine, appeared on video in a drunken tirade and made vulgar comments about having oral sex with his wife during a press conference.

So naturally, SNL put the heavyset mayor at the center of Saturday night's cold open.

"What do you have to say to the voters this week?" Taran Killam's sweet-faced Canadian news anchor asks Toronto's embattled mayor -- impersonated by Bobby Moynihan.

"Just that I goofed up, eh," he responds.

Killam goes on to introduce a series of spectacularly mishandled Ford press conferences, in which the mayor tries to buy crack behind the podium and eventually belly-dives into the crowd.

Later, Seth Meyers and Cecily Strong touched on the topic in their weekly "Weekend Update" segment:
