Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant practiced with the team Saturday for the first time since he tore his left Achilles' tendon in April.

The shooting guard had surgery after suffering the injury April 12 in a 119-116 win over the Golden State Warriors

Though Bryant has rejoined the team on the practice court, the Lakers have yet to set a time table for his full return, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“He looks like Kobe to me, basically. He’s moving well, right back to his old self," said reserve guard Steve Blake.

"The fade-away still works, the ball-handling and being able to post," Bryant told NBA TV Friday. "Those are things that I can do right now. But it's not the playoffs."

“If it was a playoff game tonight, I could play,” he added. “I don’t know how effective I’d be, but I would play.”
