'Family Ties' mom Meredith Baxter to marry girlfriend Nancy Locke

Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Meredith Baxter, best known as mom Elyse Keaton on the '80s sitcom Family Ties, is all set to marry longtime girlfriend Nancy Locke after obtaining a marriage license from a Beverly Hills, Calif., courthouse.

The pair have been dating for seven years, though Baxter didn't officially come out until 2009, after having been married three times.

She revealed herself on the Today show at the time, saying "it was a later-in-life recognition."

"I got involved with someone I never expected to get involved with, and it was that kind of awakening. I never fought it because it was like, oh, I understand why I had the issues I had early in life. I had a great deal of difficulty connecting with men in relationships."

The wedding date has not yet been announced, but TMZ reports that invitations have already been sent.
