(UPI) -- Walmart has always touted its low prices and seasonal discounts, but even seasoned bargain hunters would have been astounded by the steep price cuts advertised on the retailer's website Wednesday morning.

Due to a technical glitch, the big-box giant accidentally sold relatively expensive electronics and other items at discounts of up to 90 percent, according to The Los Angeles Times. A $300 speakers went for $30, for example, while treadmills went for $18 and LCD computer screens for $9.

Ecstatic online shoppers went crazy for the temporary deals.

“We have millions of items on our site. This error affected a group of products,” Walmart spokesman Ravi Jariwala explained, adding t the company was still working to remedy the problem.

Jariwala also told The Wall Street Journal that the company hadn't decided whether to honor prices on items purchased during the glitch. He added that Walmart was "reaching out to customers now."
