(UPI) -- Kim Kardashian lit the Internet on fire when she shared a photo of herself in a barely-there swimsuit on Instagram. And in case you were wondering, yes, she was trying to prove a point.
"I was trying on a bathing suit, and I actually just sent that to my boyfriend, my fiancé, and I was like, 'Babe, can I post this up?'" she told Jay Leno on a visit to The Tonight Show "'This is my big, like, middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat.'"
Kardashian said the criticism over her weight gain during her pregnancy, which really amounted to public fat-shaming, "hurt my soul."
"I was gaining weight because I was pregnant, and it was just really hard to read all these stories and hear all these nasty things," she said. "Why would I subject myself to so much negativity, especially now that I have a daughter? I've definitely tried to live more of a private life because of that."
The 33-year-old reality star, who got engaged to Kanye West earlier this month, said they are thinking about a summer 2014 wedding, possibly "somewhere destinational."
"Maybe I'll pick the place and he can plan it," she said, which is probably a good idea since family insiders say the rapper, 36, has turned into a bridezilla.
