Ypsilanti police detective Sgt. Thomas Eberts said a gunshot wound was found on Reed's body, and is believed to be the cause of death. By noon, detectives had cleared the scene, while officers stayed behind to finish clearing the area.
Reed, a junior from Chicago, had started in every game this season and was the team's fourth-leading receiver.
Residents of the apartment complex said there was a party the night before, but did not notice any suspicious persons or hear any gunshots.
I've spoken with several people coming in and out of the building where man's body was found in Ypsi. No one knows anything.
