(UPI) -- Jamie Spears has managed Britney Spears' career, financial, legal and mental health affairs as her conservator since 2008, when she was committed to a psychiatric ward.

He already receives $16,000 a month from the 31-year-old pop idol's estate, but has now asked for more money to help with rent and office expenses, E! News reported Thursday.

“I continue to perform services to protect and care for Britney’s person and to administer her estate in good faith and in her best interests,” Jamie wrote in the petition to Los Angeles County's Superior Court.

“I continue to have significant oversight duties relating to her visitation with her children," he added.

Jamie claimed in the court documents that he needs an additional $800 on top of the $1,200 he already receives to pay rent on the office he uses to manage Britney's affairs.

He maintains the office "to maximize the contractual benefits she would receive with a minimum of financial risk to her and a safe, structured, and pleasant environment," Jamie added.

The court has scheduled Jamie's hearing for October 29.
