Britney Spears on Miley Cyrus: 'I think she's brilliant right now'

Spears on Cyrus: "She's a girl's girl and she gets the whole Southern thing."

(UPI) -- Britney Spears revealed that she is a huge fan of her friend and collaborator, Miley Cyrus, during an interview she did with London's 95-106 Capital FM that will air this Sunday.

Spears and Cyrus share a manager, Larry Rudolph, and also worked together on the "Bangerz (SMS)" track.

"My mom and her mom know each other," Spears said. "She's a girl's girl and she gets the whole Southern thing."

Cyrus has praised Spears in the past and talked about why she wanted to work with the 31-year-old pop princess on her fourth record during a new MTV documentary special, “Miley: The Movement.”

"I always say I only want one bitch on my record, and that's Britney, bitch," Cyrus said. .

Spears is appreciative of public praise from Cyrus. "She has so much energy and she's on fire, so for her to even say anything about me is just really cool," Spears said. "I'm a huge fan of hers. I think she's brilliant right now."

Both singers have made controversial career choices but have managed to keep their fans loyal and begging for more.

"The way that I am about Britney, that's the way a lot of people are about me," Cyrus said. "She was my first record. I was a lot of people's first album. First idol. I'll be a diehard fan for Britney, always."

Cyrus and songwriter Sean Garrett considered asking Nicki Minaj to appear on "Bangerz (SMS)," but Spears ended up getting the call. "That would've been nuts too, but I think that's how God works," Garrett said. "This was absolutely the right one."
