LeAnn Rimes' ex-husband said he didn't see affair coming

LeAnn Rimes' ex-husband, chef Dean Sheremet, said he was shocked when he learned of her affair with Eddie Cibrian and that he "never saw it coming."

In an interview with "Access Hollywood," Sheremet said Rimes told him of the affair before he could learn about it in the news.

“I had a call … from LeAnn. She said, ‘Well, Us Weekly may or may not have a picture of me and Eddie kissing.’ I’m like, ‘Whoa! What do you mean may or may not have a picture? What does that mean?’ ” he said. “So, then it was a whole, yeah, it unfolded from there.”

“The affair was, I mean, of all the things that I could have ever imagined would have happened, I never would have thought. I guess you have that assumption that the person that you’re with would never do something like that,” Sheremet said. “How close we were, I just never saw it coming. If anyone would have seen it, I thought that I would have.”

The pair was married for eight years before the affair. The two divorced and Rimes married Cibrian and Sheremet eventually married photographer Sarah Silver.

Sheremet said he doesn't have any animosity toward Rimes but they don't talk much now.

"I have nothing but love for her, and I really wish her the best,” he said. “But we don’t really talk that much. There’s not really a need to. I don’t really know what we would talk about.”
