Jonas Brothers cancel tour over 'deep rift within the band'

The Jonas Brothers have canceled their planned 19-date tour -- set to begin in Pennsylvania on Friday -- because of a "deep rift within the band," their spokesman told People Wednesday.

"There was a big a disagreement over their music direction," he said.

The magazine goes on to report that Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25, made the decision after a weekend argument.

Though ticket holders will receive full refunds, Jonas Brothers fans will have to wait for news about the group's planned "V" album.

"It remains to be seen" what this decision will mean for the future of the band, the rep added.

Sources told TMZ that the argument stemmed from creative differences over their new songs. They couldn't agree on whether to continue pop songs or pursue "hard rock."

"They all agreed on one thing -- releasing anything new would be a disaster, because the style would be all over the place," TMZ reported.

While Nick and Joe have attempted solo careers, Kevin has starred in a reality series with his wife. They announced this year that they are expecting their first child.
