Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman has denied rumors that he was "likely" to request a trade this season. Freeman has reportedly had a rocky working relationship with Bucs coach Greg Schiano that was "beyond repair."
The report of his trade came before the game Sunday, when the Saints kicked a game-winning field goal in the final seconds.
Freeman said he had not heard the rumors until just before he stepped up to the podium for the post-game interview. He said he did not know about the rumors, and that they were inaccurate.
“If its going behind the scenes I need a new camp. I’m focused on being a Buccaneer,” Freeman said.
He also said that there were no off-field issues, and that he was not worried about his expiring contract. For the foreseeable future, Freeman will stay with the Bucs.
