Shellie Zimmerman is filing for a divorce from her husband, George Zimmerman, who seven weeks ago was acquitted of murder after he shot unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida.

After she was convicted of perjury last week after pleading guilty to misrepresenting their finances in the course of the murder investigation, Shellie Zimmerman gave her first interview describing the ordeal.

She described living in a trailer in the woods, in fear, waiting for her husband's trial. Though she appeared in court to support him each day, she said she felt very alone when he declined to appear at her perjury hearing.

During the interview, Shellie Zimmerman said she "wasn't sure" whether she would stay married to George. Now, her attorneys have confirmed she is filing for divorce.
