Tropical Storm Kiko demoted to post-tropical cyclone

Tropical Storm Kiko is now post-tropical cyclone Kiko.

Tropical storm Kiko was demoted Monday to post-tropical cyclone Kiko by the National Weather Service.

The change took place at around 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time: "This is the last public advisory issued by the National Hurricane Center on this system. For additional information on the remnant low please see high seas forecast issues by the National Weather Service."

After the demotion Kiko was described as "devoid of any significant convection… a shallow vortex embedded in weak low-level steering flow.”

Remnants of former Tropical Storm Kiko are expected to bring abundant moisture to the West, reaching as far north as the Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest.

Flash flood watches are in effect today for the Intermountain West.
