Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have reportedly separated after 13 years of marriage.

Rumors that the couple was no longer together have been floating around for a while as the two have not been photographed together since April and have been seen vacationing with their kids separately.

A source tells People magazine that Zeta-Jones and Douglas are "taking a break" because "the stress has taken a toll on their marriage."

In spite of being one of Hollywood's longest-lasting couples, Zeta-Jones and Douglas have had to deal with a fair share of problems over the last few years. In 2010 Douglas battled with cancer and in recent months Zeta-Jones has been struggling with bipolar II disorder.

However, the break does not mean that the couple is ready to call it quits yet. Neither star has filled for divorce or moved toward legal separation.

The couple, who wed in New York in 2000, reportedly decided to separate for a while in May after Douglas came back from the Cannes Film Festival. Zeta-Jones is currently living in the pair's New York home while Douglas is vacationing on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia.
