The jury in the trial of notorious Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger returned a verdict Monday afternoon on a 32-count racketeering indictment, including participating in 19 murders in the 1970s and 1980s. Jurors returned a sweeping after five days of deliberations, finding Bulger, 83, guilty of 31 out of 32 charges, including racketeering conspiracy and racketeering as the boss of the Winter Hill Gang.

Bulger was on the run for 16 years before the FBI caught up with him in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2011.
