A Texas man killed four people, including his estranged wife and girlfriend, in a Dallas-area shooting spree on Wednesday night, according to police.

Authorities have identified Erbie Bowser, a former special education teacher and Dallas Mavericks dance troupe member, as the suspect.

Carrying a grenade and a gun, Bowser allegedly shot his girlfriend, Toya Smith, and Smith's 17-year-old daughter, at around 10:30pm. He also wounded two other teenagers in the attack.

Bowser then went to the home of his estranged wife, Zina Bowser, where he threw a grenade into the living room before shooting her and another woman. He injured two boys, ages 11 and 13, now in critical condition at the hospital.

Bowser pretended to be a victim when police arrived at the second home, identifying himself as a former member of the military.

Zina Bowser, who worked as a nurse practitioner at a local hospital, had filed a protective order against her husband, saying that he had pulled a knife on her in 2011.

“Call the police and I will execute your kids," he allegedly said at the time.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, friends and her fellow team members here at JPS,” the Zina's hospital said in a statement. “Zina was a compassionate member of our healthcare team, providing dedicated care for JPS employees and their family members as a nurse practitioner in our employee health clinic. She touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed.”
