A court has formally charged Francisco Jose Garzon, the driver of Wednesday's train crash in northwestern Spain, with 79 counts of homicide by professional recklessness, CNN reported Sunday.
Garzon, who was arrested on Thursday, allegedly drove too fast along the curve where the train derailed, as seen in video of the incident above.

The court also suspended the 52-year-old's train driver's license and took his passport.
The crash killed at least 79 people and marked the nation's deadliest train accident in decades.
"I've f**ked up, I want to die,” Garzon reportedly told rescue workers as they rushed to pull bodies from the wreckage.
