Freddie Prince Jr., has stayed mostly quiet since the mid-2000s, when he starred in the live-action "Scooby Doo" series with his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar. He also appeared briefly in TV series like "24" and "Boston Legal." Now, the 37-year-old father of two will return to television with a guest-starring role on David Boreanaz' hit procedural, "Bones."

According to TV Line, Prinze has signed on for one episode during "Bones'" ninth season, though there's potential for his character, an "armed and dangerous" CIA agent, to have a multi-episode arc.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fans will remember that Boreanez played Gellar's longtime love interest, before he starred in the show's spinoff, "Angel."

Season 9 of "Bones" stars September 16.
