Motorola and Verizon introduced three new smart phones at a press conference Tuesday.

The Droid Mini, the Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx are all equipped with a 720p display, a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with a customized X8 mobile computing system, 2GB of RAM, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 10-megapixel camera on the back.

While the Mini and the Ultra provide users with 24-hours of battery life, the Maxx champions a battery capable of delivering up to 48 hours of usage, according to Motorola.

The New Jersey carrier claims its 5-inch screen Droid Maxx has the longest lasting battery life of any smartphone that is able to connect to 4G LTE cellular networks.

The Maxx is the successor to last year's Droid RAZR Maxx HD, which had a battery life of around 32 hours.

In addition to the phone's long-lasting batteries, the three new droids can be controlled mostly using voice commands. Very much like Google Glass, users can engage with the device by saying, "OK Google Now" and adding whatever command they'd like to phone to perform.

"These Touchless Controls and Active Display let users make calls, send texts, get directions, play music, set a reminder and preview notifications hands-free without having to unlock the phone, giving Droid users a whole new way of interacting with their phones," Verizon said in a statement.

One of the most useful commands is the "OK Google Now, call my droid," which prompts the phone to start ringing and thus helps users locate misplaced devices.

The Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra will go on sale in stores on Aug. 20 for $299.99 and $199.99, respectively, with two-year contracts. The Droid Mini will be available Aug. 29 for $99.99 with a two-year contract.
