Kevin Spacey tweets a photo of himself in Charleston's summer floods

Kevin Spacey, who was recently nominated for his performance in "House of Cards," visited Charleston, S.C., over the weekend, apparently unaware of the southern city's wet, summer weather, the Charleston City Paper reported Monday.

"I had a great time in Charleston, SC. Beautiful summer weather," the 53-year-old New Jersey native tweeted Sunday.

According to an official city document, Charleston frequently foods when it rains because of its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its low-lying streets.

In "House of Cards," Spacey plays a representative from rural South Carolina.
