Robert Downey Jr. tops Forbes actors list

Forbes has released its annual list of highest-paid actors from June 2012 to June 2013, topped by Robert Downey Jr. and rounded out by the some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Robert Downey Jr. - $75 Million The once-unemployable actor made himself indispensable as Tony Stark, and although Iron Man was just one of the Avengers, RDJ was able to demand the most money.

Channing Tatum - $60 Million Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh self-financed "Magic Mike" for $7 million, and didn't have to share when the movie brought in $167 million.

Hugh Jackman - $55 Million Jackman's ongoing earnings as Wolverine were boosted when he starred in "Les Miserables," which brought in $438 million on $61 million and was nominated for eight Oscars.

Mark Wahlberg - $52 Million Wahlberg's 2012 film "Ted" was surprise hit, earning $550 million at the global box office on a $50 million budget. His earnings made a big jump from $27 million last year.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson - $46 Million The former wrestler spent ten weeks this year with films in the top ten. "Fast & Furious 6" grossed more than $500 million in less than two weeks and it has been said that Johnson saved "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."

Leonardo DiCaprio - $39 Million DiCaprio's appearance in "The Great Gatsby" helped propel it past $250 million at the box office, making the film director Baz Luhrmann's most successful movie to date.

Adam Sandler - $37 Million The animated "Hotel Transylvania" turned out to be Sandler's biggest hit, grossing $347 million on $85 million. The comedian's live-action films may be flopping, but it turns out he can still demand a decent paycheck for them.

Tom Cruise - $35 Million "Jack Reacher" may have gotten mediocre reviews and a mere $80 million at the U.S. box office, but foreign audiences brought global box office to $217 million on a $60 million budget.

Denzel Washington - $33 Million Before playing a pilot battling addiction in "Flight," Washington agreed to a pay cut in exchange for a bigger cut of profits. He won that bet when the movie earned earned $162 million on $31 million, and Washington got his sixth Oscar nomination.

Liam Neeson - $32 Million Neeson has continued his work in the "Taken" films making ever-increasing paychecks, and boosts his earnings with low-cost, high-return films like "The Grey."
