Daunte Culpepper, who played quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, the Miami Dolphins, the Oakland Raiders and the Detroit Lions, paid $3.6 million for his South Florida home when he was signed by Miami in 2006.

According to court documents, the 36-year-old former athlete owed $3 million on the 9,867 square-foot home, which was ceded to the bank in lieu of foreclosure last April.

SunTrust Bank, which now owns the home, dismissed its lawsuit against Culpepper in June.

After serious injury problems, the Dolphins released Culpepper after only one season. He retired after a 2010 season with the United Football League's Sacramento Mountain Lions.
