July 16 (UPI) -- Convicted murder Jodi Arias and her attorneys are due back in Arizona court Tuesday for an hearing on the penalty phase and possible retrial.

The 10:30 a.m. hearing at Maricopa County Superior Court will attempt to set a start date for a new penalty trial, in which jury selection alone could take weeks.

Arias was convicted in May of first-degree murder of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, but the jury could not decide whether to give her the death sentence or life in prison.

Lawyers could potentially decide not to go to a new trial.
