Chris Brown may face jail time as judge revokes probation in Rihanna beating

Singer Chris Brown had his probation revoked Monday after prosecutors alleged he violated the terms of his probation by committing a hit-and-run while driving without a valid license.

Brown is on probation after a 2009 felony conviction for domestic violence after beating fellow singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation, 1,400 hours of community service and domestic violence classes.

Now, Brown could face up to four years in jail for probation violation. Prosecutors allege that an incident involving two misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run and driving without a license violate the terms of Brown's five-year probation in the felony assault case, which requires he obey all laws.

In this incident, Brown allegedly rear-ended a woman's Mercedes while driving his Range Rover on May 21. The two pulled over, and the Mercedes driver asked for Brown's license and insurance, as is required by state law. Brown did not produce either, the woman said.

Instead, the woman says Brown's passenger Karrueche Tientrese Tran provided her driver license and expired insurance for a Lamborghini. Brown insists that he followed procedure.

I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!!

The judge ordered Brown be released without bail, and court date is set for Aug. 16 to determine whether Brown will face punishment.
