Daniel Radcliffe won't play Harry Potter again, says he's ready for fatherhood

Daniel Radcliffe has officially moved on from his role as the world's most famous boy wizard, telling Time Out: London in a recent interview that he is already thinking about fatherhood.

The 23-year-old actor told the mag that he'd like to "get started" on having children before he hits 30.

"I like the idea of being a youngish parent so I've got energy to play football even though they'll be better than me by the time they're four," he said.

Radcliffe said he wants children to give him "purpose" outside of work.

I've grown up around lots of people who were having kids when I knew them, because a lot of them were a lot older than me," he explained. "And I saw the wonderful change in them. I see that it gives you a sense of purpose that up till now I only really get from work. I want that [purpose].

Radcliffe also trampled on "Harry Potter" fans' hopes that he'd don Gryffindor colors again.

"Even if Jo [Rowling] wrote a sequel, which is unlikely, I’d take a LOT of talking round," Radcliffe said. "I’ve done so much work to establish myself as something outside that series I’d be really hesitant to go back."

I’m 23, which is too old to be running round in a school boy’s cape. I’d never totally close the door for the reason that Jo’s a great writer. But no more school boy stuff. A cameo as Harry’s dad? That would be perfect!
