Disneyland's Toontown reopens after explosion, no injuries reported

Authorities believe that dry ice in a small plastic bottle left in a trash can might have started the loud explosion in Disneyland's Toontown late Tuesday afternoon, NBC Los Angeles reported.

No injuries were reported in the incident, though police evacuated the area just in case.

"As a precaution we have evacuated Toontown," Sgt. Robert Dunn, of the Anaheim Police Department, told the Los Angeles Times.

Twitter user Allen Wolf described the incident:

UPDATE: Disneyland issued this statement via Twitter:

This afternoon, a small bang was heard in a trash can at Mickey's Toontown. In an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated. There were no injuries and no reported damage. We are working with local authorities who are now on-site and reviewing.

Toontown was reopened at about 7:30 pm PT after police declared the area safe again. Sgt. Dunn told the Los Angeles Times that authorities are trying to find out if there's a connection between Tuesday's incident and other dry-ice devices recently discovered around the Anaheim area.
