Dave Evans was going after a world record when his massive jigsaw puzzle collapsed unexpectedly.

Evans spent 35 days cutting more than 40,000 pieces by hand in Weymouth, U.K. The final puzzle featured 33 images, mostly of festivals celebrating the queen's Diamond Jubilee. The puzzle will go on display at Sandringham Estate in May -- after Evans spends "about three days" putting it all back together.
