[VIDEO] R. Kelly joins Phoenix on stage at Coachella

Despite rumors that Daft Punk would make an appearance for Phoenix's headlining set at Coachella Saturday night, the French synth-pop rockers brought out surprise guest R. Kelly for an unlikely remix of "Ignition (Remix)" and "1901."

The Kelly and Phoenix duet "lasted less than five minutes," according to Rolling Stone, and wound down with Kelly's "I'm a Flirt."

Refinery 29's Nathan Reese said that fans postponed their Daft Punk disappointment till the end of the show.

As soon as fans realized what was happening, the crowd exploded, but as the performance closed, many were left scratching their heads. Chants of "Daft Punk! Daft Punk!" could be heard in the crowd.
