The Pennsylvania Game Commission says Arcangelo Bianco Jr. fired several rounds of his handgun at a white-tailed deer from a Walmart parking lot in Burrell Township, Penn., on the first day of antlered deer-hunting season last November.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, Bianco grabbed his gun and jumped out of his truck, pursuing the deer around the edge of the store. He eventually killed and bagged it on the other side of the highway.

“Obviously, we can’t have someone running through a Walmart parking lot shooting at a deer,” Jack Lucas, a wildlife officer assigned to the incident, told the Indiana Gazette.

Bianco was charged with five hunting violations, including shooting on or across highways and hunting without a licence. He faces a misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment.

Despite the repercussions, Bianco might not have been able to resist.

“It was the nicest buck I’ve seen taken in Indiana County in a couple of years,” Lucas added.
