Looks like Julianne Hough has learned the hard way something most of us know by instinct: don't leave valuable stuff in the car.

The "Safe Haven" actress had $100,000 worth of jewelry -- reportedly gifts from boyfriend Ryan Secrest -- stolen out of her Mercedes at a Hollywood apartment complex.

According to TMZ, Hough returned to her car Friday night after visiting with a friend only to find the door wide open and her jewelry missing.

One of the three items missing was supposedly a $50,000 watch.

Law enforcement officials said there were no signs of forced entry. It's unclear if Hough left the door open for thieves to help themselves.
