The Ottawa Citizen reported Tuesday that Taylor Swift accepted $2.5 million to perform at an Ottawa event called the Capital Hoedown in August of last year, but kept the money even after the show got canceled.
Swift was supposed to headline the three-day Hoedown, which would also have included Reba McEntire and Sheryl Crow, but the organizer canceled the event over "higher than expected costs from the city, upfront production expenditures and lower than anticipated ticket sales."
