News correspondent and WHCA president Ed Henry tweeted Wednesday morning that Conan O'Brien will host the annual White House Correspondents' Association's scholarship dinner on April 27.

The evening, which allows the fourth estate and the government officials that they cover to pause any professional animosity and drink heartily, was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel last year. D.C.'s version of the Oscars, the event has attracted numerous celebrities outside journalism. Last year's attendees included Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, Claire Danes, Kevin Spacey and "Modern Family" stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, and Sofia Vergara.

O'Brien hosted the event in 1995, when he was still in his early days on NBC's "Late Night." He now hosts TBS' late night talk show, "Conan."
